Archbishop Carlson announced that the Archdiocesan schools will be closed and all co-curricular activities suspended for the school year. He made this decision in cooperation with local and state government and health officials. Archbishop Carlson says the health and safety of the people of the archdiocese is a priority and sees this decision as the best path forward to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus in our area.

Duchesne's back-to-school middle school mixer will be held on Saturday, August 26 from 7 pm – 9:30 pm in the PAC. Space is limited to the first 400 who sign up. The $10 preregistration fee includes a T-shirt. Cost is $15 at the door.

Students will not come to school that day, but need to log-in and check-in to their Advisory by 9:00 a.m. in eBackpack. A resident wrote, "I just want to acknowledge the procession of students to the Philippine Duchesne shrine today. Each year on November 18th, we celebrate the feast of our patroness and namesake, St. Rose Philippine Duchesne. This year, we amped up the celebration with a Eucharistic procession through the streets of St. Charles. The procession ended at the Academy of the Sacred Heart, where we celebrated an all-school Mass in conjunction with their student body. Read More!

This year, NHS will be putting on a two day shoe drive (Monday Nov 21st and Tuesday Nov 22nd). Fleet Feet collects used shoes (any type - dress, athletic, sandals, etc.) to repair/sell to provide irrigation systems in developing nations.

On Wednesday, March 14th, the Duchesne Mathletes attended the Archdiocesan Math League Contest at Bishop DuBourg High School. There are six schools in the League. Duchesne won more than 50% of all the awards.

During Ash Wednesday Mass, the students, faculty and staff were challenged to buy an ark. For the past several years the Duchesne Community donated money to Heifer International, an organization that assist people in impoverished countries to become self-sufficient by providing them animals and the knowledge to eventually be self-sustaining. We've donated over $5000 a year, enough money to fill an ark!

We will have an all-school Mass (regular uniform dress code) during which ashes will be imposed. Wednesday is a "B" day. The schedule will be the regular Mass schedule. We will begin with period 8 and 1 and then proceed to advisory and then be dismissed to Mass. Period 2 after Mass, period 4 lunch, then period 3, 5 & 6 after lunch.
