 September 7, 2018 Reenactment of Philippine's Arrival

on the St. Charles Riverfront

Synopsis

Lesson 7 celebrates the completion of Philippine’s journey to bring the joy of Jesus’ Sacred Heart and education to the New World.  Philippine Duchesne establishes the first free school west of the Mississippi River, the Academy of the Sacred Heart.  She also launches Catholic education for what will become the Archdiocese of St. Louis and education for what will become the State of Missouri.
