Another Football Victory

Friday night the Pioneers beat St. Charles 56-24 on Senior night.  It was a special night for our Senior players to celebrate 4 years of Pioneer football.  The crowd was outstanding.  Thank you to the many students, parents, Junior Pioneer football team and loyal fans that came out and supported the PIONEERS!

 The Pioneers were led on offense by Trevor Korba. offense.  Trevor broke the DHS single game rushing record by rushing for 332 yards on 29 carries and 5 TD’s.  The 5 TD’s ties the school record.  The record was held by Ted Glosier in 1970: 40 carries, 281 yards rushing and 5 TD’s.  The offensive line of Brad Pryor, Rick Leach, Blake Westhues, Aaron Weber and Tom Malloy did a great job as the Pioneers rushed for 457 yards and passed for 139 yards for total offense of 596 yards.  Clay Stulce passed for 139 yards and 1 TD, Clay carried 12 times for 84 and 2 TD’s and Jared Mosquera rushed 4 times for 37 yards.  Drew Moore had 4 catches for 68 yards.  Zack Dodson was 6 of 7 extra points.  

The leading defense in the St. Louis area, did a good job of controlling the St. Charles offense. The defense was led by:  Trevor Korba; 9 tackles, Brian Goetges 3 tackles, Brad Pryor had 7 tackles and 2 assists, Clay Stulce had 1 interception, Drew Moore had 5 tackles.

Next Saturday the Pioneers will play at Westminster at 1:00 to end the regular season.  The Pioneers will host the first round of district playoffs on Friday November 1st at 7:00.
