The President's Scholarship, established in 1995, is an academic award available to all incoming freshmen for the Class of 2013 who meet the criteria listed below.  This scholarship is an "automatic" award, meaning that any incoming freshman who meets the scholarship criteria will receive the award.

The President's Scholarship is renewable every year for recipients who achieve a minimum of a 4.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at the end of the year and have no unsatisfactory marks in conduct.

Applicant must:

  • Select Duchesne High School as his/her first choice school

  • Graduate from a Catholic grade school

  • Score at or above the 90th percentile on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (composite) eighth grade test

  • Earn an "A" average in core subjects for the first semester of 8th grade

  • Have acceptable conduct, as confirmed by the principal

The scholarship process begins with the selection of Duchesne High School as the student's first choice on the Archdiocesan Catholic High School Application.

Duchesne will contact the grade school principal in January to confirm the student's good standing.  Recipients will be notified of the award in February, soon after students receive their letters of acceptance from DHS.
