Foresight Gala and Dream Home Sweepstakes

Move to the Spring!

After a great deal of conversation with internal and external organizations that may be affected by the decision, the Advancement Office staff will move long-time fundraising activities - the gala Foresight Dinner Auction and the Dream Home Sweepstakes - from the fall to the spring.

There are several reasons for the change:

• The move allows the annual Pioneer Fund campaign to take place in the fall when donors are thinking about tax-deductible, end-of-year gifts.
   
• The move allows our committees additional months during the school year for planning and engaging volunteers; it allows our freshmen and their families to become acclimated to high school and fully participate in the events.
   
• The move puts more space between the Dream Home Sweepstakes (which funds the school’s operating budget) and the Athletic Booster’s football lottery (which funds the school’s athletic budget). The new kick-off date - probably just before the holidays - would allow a longer time for selling tickets, which should increase profits.
   
• The fall is heavy with recruitment activities (shadow visits, High School Night, Open House) and alumni activities (homecoming, golf tournament, reunions). With more attention, our recruitment and alumni activities will be stronger and more effective.
  
  The response, so far, has been positive, and we know we can count on the continued support of our generous parents, students, alumni and friends.
